“AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — There are many agencies and organizations dedicated to helping those suffering from homelessness.
In Amarillo, one recently celebrated its 27th anniversary – the Guyon Saunders Resource Center.
Hopefully, they will celebrate their 28th in a new facility.
It began in 1993. A group of concerned Amarillo citizens got together and purchased an abandoned warehouse in the downtown area.
The goal? Providing a place for those living on the streets to go during the daytime hours, where, depending on the season, they can escape the cold, the heat and find a refuge for a few hours.”
